A 2-Acre Construction Sandbox is Coming to Grapevine Mills (and Yes, It's for Adults Too)
If your living room currently looks like a disaster zone of plastic yellow dump trucks, or your kids are glued to iPad videos of bulldozers clearing dirt, you're going to want to listen up.
There is a massive new spot opening in the Metroplex that takes that exact obsession and sizes it up to the real thing.
It’s called Dig World, and it’s a 2-acre, full-scale construction adventure park officially setting up shop right at Grapevine Mills. We aren't talking about replicas or coin-operated arcade rides here. Kids and, honestly, parents who secretly still love big trucks can actually climb up into the driver’s seat of full-sized excavators, navigate a rugged UTV course, steer real skid steers, and even operate a 40-foot boom lift.
Everything is fully supervised and designed to be completely safe, but the machinery itself is 100% legitimate.
Beyond the Basic Digging
The park isn't just a giant sandbox, either. They’ve built out a few specific areas that give the whole place a different kind of weekend-hangout energy:
-
The Machinery: Hands-on, real-deal operation of heavy construction equipment.
-
The Dude Perfect Zone: If you've seen their videos, you know the vibe. Think epic construction-themed trick shots, like trying your hand at mini-excavator golf.
-
The CRUSHER: Exactly what it sounds like. You get to watch a massive, 20,000-pound roller absolutely flatten toys right in front of you, and the kids get to take home a custom souvenir from the wreckage.
Why DFW is a Great Fit for This
Let’s be honest, North Texas has no shortage of things to do on a Saturday. But finding something that actually gets elementary-aged kids away from a screen and doing something tactile while keeping adults genuinely entertained is a pretty short list.
Because it’s anchoring right at Grapevine Mills (2200 W Grapevine Mills Cir), it's incredibly easy to get to, making it a perfect option for a wild family day out or a birthday party that people will actually remember.
How to Get in Early
They are splitting the opening into two phases over the next few days, so you can time your visit depending on how fast you want to get out there:
-
Preview Crew Early Access: Running from right now through Friday, July 10, 2026. This is your best bet if you want to beat the massive crowds.
-
Official Grand Opening: Saturday, July 11, 2026.
-
The Hours: They'll be open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
It’s just another one of those unique concepts that make living in DFW fun. There’s always something slightly absurd and incredibly entertaining opening up down the road.
If you want to grab passes before the weekend rush, head over to their site, look through the ticket options, and lock in your spots.
